Our Mission Statement
Hampstead’s Patriotic Purposes and Veterans Affairs Committee administers and hosts several patriotic programs and events throughout the year as well as assisting Hampstead veterans with their ongoing military support affairs.
Our Memorial Day Observance is held at the bandstand behind Town Offices (Meeting House Park) starting at 11am on Memorial Day Mondays. A Ceremony for the Retirement of Unserviceable Flags is held at 6pm as advertised the week of June 14th. We are a major contributor to the Town’s annual 4th of July celebration at Meeting House Park behind the Town Offices. Our Veterans Day Observance is held each Nov 11th at 11am at the Middle School unless the 11th falls on a Sunday, the it will be observed the following Monday.
Eagle Scout Brett Hamel updated the Veteran’s Monuments out in front of the town hall, since the most recent one had covered up until the Vietnam War. This will honor those who have joined the military while Hampstead residents since Vietnam up to and including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
We are asking eligible service members to download the form we’ve developed in order to get their names put on the back of the monument. If there are any questions please email howiesteadmans@aol.com or call 603-329-4288
