Message from the Chief
Welcome to the Town of Hampstead Fire Department’s website!
The Fire Department provides many services to the town that includes Fire Suppression, Rescue, Emergency Medical Service, Hazardous Material Mitigation, and Emergency Management Functions.
The department is comprised of four (4) full time Firefighters, a part time Fire Chief (32 hours), a part time Fire Inspector (16 hours), and thirty (30) On-call Firefighters.
Headquarters, which is located at 17 Little’s Lane, is staffed with two (2) full time Firefighters from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, seven (7) days a week; and two (2) Per Diem members from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, seven days a week. This schedule allows for two members to be on duty 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.
In addition to the full time Firefighters and Per Diem members, Call Firefighters, as assigned companies, respond to the station from their homes or other locations to get the appropriate emergency vehicle/s and then respond accordingly.
These men and women dedicate a significant amount of time and effort to make sure that the Town of Hampstead is provided with the best possible service. Firefighters and EMS personnel attend monthly training sessions that require additional time away from home to make sure their high skill level is maintained for you, your family, and visitors to our town.
Please take a look at our website where there is information to answer some of your questions, provide helpful safety tips, and to provide you with some general information.
