Chief's Message

Welcome to the Town of Hampstead Fire Department’s website!

The Fire Department provides many services to the town that includes Fire Suppression, Rescue Operations, Emergency Medical Service, Hazardous Material Mitigation, Disaster Management and Emergency Management Functions.

The department is comprised of the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, seven (7) full time Firefighters, a part-time Fire Inspector (24 hours), and twenty-five (25) On-call and Per Diem Firefighters.

Headquarters, which is located at 17 Little’s Lane, is staffed with one (1) full time Firefighter and one (1) Per Diem Firefighter or two (2) full time Firefighters, 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Additionally, there is a full time Firefighter (Operations Captain) on-duty during the week, Monday - Friday, and an additional Per Diem Firefighter on duty Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8:00AM - 4:00PM. 

In addition to the full time Firefighters and Per Diem members, Call Firefighters respond to the station from their homes or other locations to get the appropriate emergency vehicle/s and then respond accordingly.

This staffing model is a cost-effective approach in providing the necessary resources in providing Fire-Rescue services to the Town.

These men and women dedicate a significant amount of time and effort to make sure that the Town of Hampstead is provided with the best possible service. Firefighters and EMS personnel attend monthly training sessions that require additional time away from home to make sure their high skill level is maintained for you, your family, and visitors to our town.
